Digital Portfolio for Creative X

When Fortune Brands restructured its businesses in 2023, designers representing nearly 20 brands came together to serve the business as one team—Creative X. During this time, Creative X grew rapidly and needed a place for both talent and internal stakeholders alike to understand our capabilities and culture.

CHALLENGE

Creating a home base for the wide range of product types and brands we service was uniquely challenging. Not only did all these variables have to look good, but we wanted the website to be scalable and easy to maintain. We also did not have any development resources within our team, so we had to find a solution that would allow us to execute this independently. Lastly, a challenging aspect of this project was prioritizing it among a growing influx of stakeholder requests. To stay accountable, our team set up working sessions and status checks to collaborate on solutions and ensure this project was completed in a timely manner.

SOLUTION

We explored our options for no-code website platforms and decided on Webflow. I then studied free Webflow templates to understand how elements like sliders, CMS collections, and menus were built within their tool. With this in mind, our team collaborated on concepts and settled on a simple design that would let our work be the focus. We finalized our design in XD, then built the pages and CMS collections in Webflow and tested our work across breakpoints to ensure responsive accuracy. Anyone on our team can add projects, team members, and headlines with ease. The website has proven helpful to show internal stakeholders what’s possible with our brands, and a great way to convey our mission and culture to prospective talent.
